Private, in-home training available within Pinellas County.
Small group classes (6-8 dogs maximum) are held indoors at the Dunedin Community Center. Classes are one-hour long and meet once a week for six weeks.
Classes currently offered include:
Dog Manners – for dogs 4 months of age or older
Classes will include instruction for dog parents to train their dogs to perform a variety of basic behaviors, including sit, down, come, walk nicely on a leash, wait at the door, and more. Instruction on effective management practices for dealing with common behavioral issues such as chewing, housetraining, and jumping will also be covered. Course includes homework sheets, handouts and a certificate of completion. All behaviors are taught without the use of force (no choke, pinch or shock collars!)
Puppy Manners – for puppies 10 weeks to 16 weeks of age
Classes will include instruction for new puppy owners to train their pups to perform a variety of basic behaviors, including sit, down, come, walk nicely on a leash, and more. Instruction on effective training and management practices for dealing with common puppy behavioral problems, such as puppy biting/mouthing, housetraining, and chewing will also be included. Special emphasis will be placed on proper socialization of puppies to other dogs, people, objects, places, and surfaces. Classes will include off-leash puppy play sessions. Course includes homework sheets, handouts and a certificate of completion. All behaviors are taught without the use of force (no choke, pinch or shock collars.)
Advanced Dog Manners
This class is for those students who have completed Dog or Puppy Manners and want to continue to improve their dog’s manners and overall training, as well as strengthen their own skills as a trainer. Class will include instruction on adding to and improving reliability of all behaviors learned in the basic-level class, with emphasis on teaching dogs to listen and respond despite distractions. Class will also include an introduction to some basic agility obstacles as well as some Rally-O exercises. Course includes homework, handouts and a certificate of completion. All behaviors are taught without the use of force (no choke, pinch or shock collars!)
